The 38th  spring number of “Awedis” has just appeared. In the opening article Editor in Chief writes:

We are still living with what happened 100 years ago when both Poland and Armenia emerged from the political non-existence (the 1st Republic of Armenia for two years only, the 2nd Republic of Poland for 20 years). In this dynamic historical periods full of years of political chaos in cases of Poland and Armenia these were years of war in fact. Both of those nations were fighting for freedom for the right to self-determination.
At the beginning of 1919 borders of many states were still uncertain and changeable. Against this background revolutionary movements were taking place too. Eyes of the whole world were bent upon Paris where the peace conference has just started.
These were the circumstances when the first Polish Parliament (Sejm) began their first session in order to establish the Constitution. It was apparent for everybody that the Sejm Assembly should be preceded by the ceremonial holy mass with the solemn sermon given by one of the most acknowledged and esteemed preachers. Then the Armenian Archbishop Jozef Teodorowicz was chosen, who was the priest, politician and social activist very well known in Poland. The Archbishop accepted this unquestionable distinction. Thanks to that he is permanently recorded in Polish history. We, on our side, can celebrate this year the 100th  anniversary of the Sejm sermon and enjoy the commemoration of this momentous event in the Warsaw cathedral. It is worth mentioning that restoring the memory of Archbishop Teodorowicz's contribution to regaining the independence of Poland is one of the important tasks of Armenian communities in Poland.
