The President of the Armenian Union in Gdansk, painter – Gagik Parsamyan  who was invited 23 years ago to organize an exhibition in Gdansk said - I fell in love with this city and its inhabitants and decided to stay here constantly. For 20 years he has been organizing and coordinating Armenian days in Gdansk and Polish days in Armenia always having in mind approximating art and culture of both nations. Today it was an end of his consecutive initiative. On the 28th of October the Vernissage of Exhibition under the title “Gdansk charms - space seen through the eyes of the Armenians” took place. The group of artists from Armenia; Hripsime Arakelyan, Sergey Isaverdyan, Paravon Mirzoyan, Garik Prveyan oraz Ruben Verdanyan during the summer plein-air artistic sessions reflected on canvas the well known Gdansk landscapes. On the pictures one can watch Mariacka Street, Długie Pobrzeże (Long Coast), Pałac Opatów w Oliwie (Abbots Palace in Oliwa). The Gdansk painter Marek Wróbel told during the vernissage that  these places well known to Gdansk inhabitants from paintings and graphics in the performance of Armenian creators may appear surprising to them. – This is fantastic, this is completely different look at Gdansk. We, as Gdansk citizens, are “stigmatized” by peculiar manner  of drawing and painting of our city architecture which originates from XIX th century canon of elegance  and it is so rigid and hackneyed. He commented further on. They came here as quite “fresh” artists and painted Gdansk in genuine  way as they see and feel it. In this way the new, very fair outlook was created so different to that we were accustomed to.
